A couple questions about restoring XML files to a new server.
1) In general, am I better off restoring an XML or moving/cloning a hard drive when replacing a pfSense box?
I vaguely recall that the last time I did a hardware swap (somewhere in the 1.1.x or 1.2.x) there were a couple things that weren't restored in the XML, but I can't recall what happened.
2) Is there a way to fix the LAN interface from the console without wiping out all of my other interfaces? I've got multiple VLANs and several OpenVPN interfaces that I'd like to avoid reconfiguring by hand, but the new system will have a different NIC driver, so at a minimum, it will rename the interfaces.
Can I search/replace the references in the XML file and/or are there any other options?
