is the order of log messages not necessarily indicative of chronology? that's what led me to ask about the link flapping, since the link state messages followed the check_reload_status message.
that being said, i can tolerate some link flapping - it's so far not been disruptive since setting the address statically. regrouping back with my initial message - how can i figure out why rc.newwanip thinks it failed to update the wan ip when dhcp is in use?
