To further clarify the RRD migration upgrade path between architectures the procedure is as follows. 1. Upgrade 2.0/2.1 i386 to the latest 2.1 i386. 2. Download the 2.1 configuration with RRD content. 3. Upgrade to 2.1 amd64, reset after the upgrade is done and the HD led is idle. (10 minutes or so). 4. Restore the 2.1 configuration with RRD content. You'll loose a few minutes of the graphs ofcourse, but you will keep the history.
