Are you using DSL or other links that are prone to maximum segment size issues?
You may need to apply something like mssfix 1200 to the problematic
connections. You may also need to enable mss clamping.
I ran into issues like this when using DSL and 4G wireless connections, you
will find the right mix of tweaks to fix it.
