I thought I saw Quagga OSPF being installed when I reloaded the
dashboard shortly after the reboot and I did not notice any error, but
I could be wrong about that. In any case, when all automatic package
reinstalls were finished, Quagga OSPF was not installed, but a manual
install of the package was successful.

I intermittently see packages not getting properly installed. Part of it is that I use unbound for DNS resolution, so DNS is not reliable during the upgrade process. However, even when switching over to dnsmasq prior to the upgrade, I've never had an upgrade go completely smoothly, it's virtually always package related, and manually re-installing fixes it.

If pfSense updates were more frequent, I'd have a better understanding of what happens, but given that it's normally months or years between updates, I usually just plan an extra hour after an update to hunt down and fix whatever doesn't come back up automatically.
