WAN | pfsense / \ LAN OPT1 pfsense has its default route on the WAN, and certain OSPF routes on OPT1. When connection requests arrive on OPT1 for a server on the LAN, pfsense correctly routes the incoming connection to the LAN server. The reply from the server, however, when it returns to pfsense on the LAN interface, is routed out the WAN. My guess is that this is because the client from which the request originated is not in pfsense's routing table, and is therefore routed to the default gateway on the WAN.
