Fellows and Fellow Travelers:
Congratulations to Alessandra, Kemi, Will, Jessica, Aaron, and Sarah
on graduating! Also, congratulations to GaoNue for delivering her first
conference paper ("An Imagined Community: Locating a Hmong 'Nation'
Through Hmong Media") at the "Building Scholarship and Cross-Campus
Connections: Conference on Southeast Asian Americans" at Carleton
College on Saturday. Your achievements are an inspiration to us all.
A moment to reflect, but, then, time to move on.
Activities already begin this week for summer 2007. Please, everyone
is invited to participate -- if you have already graduated but are
around, if you are in our posse and have friends around, etc. Just
please let me know if you want to attend and how many people... so we
can reserve enough room for seats. I am happy to drive and pick you up.

Please hit me back if you are interested in joining me at any of
these events. Please also mark your calendars for this summer's MMUF
seminar, which will begin on Wednesday May 30 and will meet on
Wednesdays from 10am to noon, from then to Wednesday July 28. I will
soon be sending you the reading for the first seminar. The core text
for the summer seminar, which we will provide you with copies of, is Ari
Sitas, VOICES THAT REASON: THEORETICAL PARABLES. Sitas is a South
African sociologist, poet, playwright, composer, activist, who explores
issues of knowledge production inside and outside the academy.

This will be a great summer!

Love and Solidarity,
Peter
