007 and Musicology are part of URBAN REVIVAL: Wednesday @ Trocaderos produced in partnership with Trocaderos Nightclub. Rather than your typical weekly nite at a club, produced by the same entity, Tru Ruts update the concept, producing a series of different shows to keep the night engaging and fresh, and to keep bringing the audience new and dynamic shows each week. The Wednesday nights will also occasionally include regional and national acts. The series will cover a variety of genres including hip hop, spoken word, neosoul, funk, reggae and more. Some of the shows include Tru Soul, Fly Gyrlz (all female showcase), 007 (hip hop showcase), Ruts Vibration (reggae + hip hop), Urban Electic (rock, hip hop, funk, more), Sworded Tongues (Slam/Spoken Word Battle), etc. Check out the rest of the newsletter and the Tru Ruts Myspace page for upcoming shows + info

ElGuarte will be doing one of his last shows as a local He has recently signed to Tru Ruts Records in Minneapolis and will be relocating to the Twin Cities to further his career this August. In his time in Madison, El Guante has left his mark with his recordings, his shows (both headlining as well as opening for everyone from Talib Kweli to Immortal Technique), his slam poetry skills and writing. No matter what the creative outlet El Guante brings his art with passion, intelligence and insight and his set at the Inferno will be no exception.

EarthFusion festival, a free event, will feature local music and dance artists, two visionary keynote speakers, a children's recycling art activities area, an interactive mural wall, a workshop tent, arts and crafts vendors, and various food vendors. Intergral to EarthFusion is collaborating with local, non-profit and youth groups to involve festival participants in environmental and social justice leadership training and community service.

TEHUTI <Divine Speech> Radio Show: From the Griot to the MC
This Tehuti (Divine Speech): The Art Form of Spoken Word, is the original radio show in the emerging Spoken Word Conscious Movement radio format, conceived by e.g. bailey, and developed and hosted since 2002, by e.g. bailey + Sha Cage. It airs Sundays 11:00pm - Midnight on KFAI Fresh Air Radio, 90.3FM in Minneapolis and 106.7FM in St. Paul. Tehuti is a spoken hip hop and conscious music show that presents the Spoken Word Conscious Movement™ from around the globe. It features artists from the Last Poets, Gil Scott Heron, Mos Def, Common, Talib, I Self Devine, Mars Ill, Figureheads, Atmosphere, Zap Mama, Nina Simone, POS, Badu, Nas, Amiri Baraka, De La Soul + many others, including recordings from UK, Serbia, Africa and more. The show as spawned other Spoken Word Conscious Movement radio format shows including Urban Griots (KMOJ/Minneapolis) and Cipher Zone (WORT/Madison), and with a show in development in the UK.
