For the past several months, Workers Interfaith Network has been working
with security officers in the metro area to make sure that every job in
the private security industry meets our basic standards for racial and
economic justice on the job.
Many security officers do not earn enough to meet the basic needs of
their families, and many lack any access to employer-provided health
care that is affordable and decent.
One Security firm stands out as the biggest barrier to progress for
security officers: Hannon Security. Hannon stands alone as the one major
private security firm unwilling to talk with workers about improving
wages and conditions.
Now, Hannon faces racial discrimination charges from security officers
of color with years of experience who were passed over for jobs or
supervisory positions in favor of white workers who had no experience in
the security industry.
None of Hannon's behavior is morally acceptable. It's time for us to
take a stand.
On Saturday December 8, you can:

* Learn about the courageous work religious leaders have already
done to uphold these values
* Take action to make racial and economic justice the norm for
security officers in the Twin Cities
