Bridges Workshop II: "Authenticity"
Are /you/ keepin' it real?
What is "it"?
Who decides?
Come eat dinner and participate in a workshop aiming to question the
idea of "authenticity" in our Macalester Communit(y/ies).
We'll be discussing "authenticity" as it relates to questions or race,
culture, religion, gender, political and sexual identity. For many of
us, living in a community like Macalester means living/ between,
through, over, under, and against/ many of the identities that we have
grown up with as well as a reexamination of who it is we wish to become.
Food for thought:
-How does an idea of "authenticity" affect the way others see us and we
see ourselves?
-What roles do stereotypes play into people's perceptions of one another?
-How does/might an idea of "authenticity" impede on our common visions
for what Macalester should be?
Dinner Provided. (We're up for suggestions!) Questions? Email

Join us in Weyerhaeuser Boardroom at 5:30pm on Sunday December 2nd.
