I had noticed this last week on solaris 5.7,
is definatly related to the number of chars in the path as
you can cd to /tmp and make a couple of dirs, one a single char
longer, the shorter works the longer segfaults.
(I think for me it was around 72 or 74 chars)
I tried it on a windows machine and had no such problem
(to 100+ chars).
