The Scheme Programming Language, Second Edition, ANSI Scheme, ISBN 0 -13
-454646 - 6, Prentice Hall

It's an authoritative and quite comprehensive systematic overview of Scheme
that covers many details and includes alot of example code. Also covers
quite a few advanced topics. Dybvig is the author of Chez Scheme, a Scheme
implementation for the Macintosh.

For a less demading introduction to Scheme I would recommend "The Little
Schemer".
