If you're going through a socks4 proxy and http works, so should ftp.
socks is basically a TCP pipe, usually with no special authentication
going on.
So let me try and get this straight since I think I'm missing
something.
You have two setups that we are dealing with:
1. a socks4 proxy at your work which works fine with http and ftp not
tried yet?
2. some other firewall setup elsewhere where you need to select this
option:
"2) send command SITE (with logon)"
in your Windows Commander to get through and read ftp sites? What do
you do with your web browser in this setup? Can you read web pages,
is that direct (no proxy setting?), also socks4, what? Can you read
ftp sites from your browser (which one and what are your proxy
settings?).
Do I have that right? What I'm after is your web connection settings
and the ftp settings from programs that work (browser, Commander)
where you are having problems with REBOL.
