I would like to vote for direct XBase support (.dbf files, cdx indexes, fpt memo
fields. ....)

DBFs don't need any expensive servers. It's easily maintanable in many editors. We are
using 120 fields, 100K record, 50 MB beasts here, transferred and imported from DB2
system. It perfectly serves the purpose as mid-range
solution. Maintanable by languages as CA Clipper, MS Foxpro, CA Visual Objects,
Delphi, Visual Basic, probably others .... It's must a have :-)
