this is how i go .....
i go to edit->preferences->advanced->proxy
there i choose the manual proxy configuration-> view
a new window opens asking me to put in the http/ftp/gopher/wais proxy and
port number .. then at the bottom just below the no proxy text area .. is
the Socks host ... no entry is given there and only port number 1080..
is in the port number textfield ... i deleted that and used my browser ..
it works fine .... i think i dont have a socks proxy ...
btw: we cant use ICQ's .. does that help anyway ...???
i tried to configure the java icq but failed to do so ... since it asked
for socks .. but that was long time back ... after that our network
was rebuilt.. and new ips allocated ... thats it .... hope that helps..
But what about the internal network ... ?? if i want to retrive internal
web pages??
i have set the
systems/schemes/http/bypass: "host to be bypassed"
systems/schemes/http/proxy/bypass: "host to be bypassed"
systems/schemes/default/proxy/bypass: "host to be bypassed"
but this also gave me the following error:
connecting to: 172.31.76.4
** Access Error: Cannot connect to 172.31.76.4.
** Where: page: read http://172.31.76.4
parse page
shouldnt it have read the index.html page ....???
