OK. I thought I could resist this discussion. But, it's beginning to make
total nonsense to me.
So far, the latest has been said:

Here are some job sites: www.dice.com and www.upseek.com

On Dice I got 35,601 hits for Java, 14,696 hits for Perl, 264 hits for
Python, 13 for Omnimark, and none for REBOL. The Dice web site is pretty
important. In fact, Larry Wall, the creator of Perl checks this site to see
how Perl is doing in the market place. When people compare Perl to Python,
Larry says because of these figures he has nothing to worry about. (See
Wall's "3rd State of the Perl Onion" for more details at
http://www.perl.com/pub/1999/08/onion/talk1.html.) By being lucratively
employed you can help turn this zero for REBOL jobs into a significant
number and further promote the REBOL cause even though you may not be
programming in REBOL.

BTW, I included Omnimark because it's my favorite programming language in
all the world. It gained it's independence in May of this year, that is,
it's free, but it's not open source. It's produced by a commercial company
(www.omnimark.com). They offer a command line edition that is free to
everyone with ODBC support on two platforms--Windows and *NIX. They offer an
IDE that is free for home and school use but has a fee for commercial use.
They sell training and services. It's regular expressions capabilities
outshine Perl's any day. And, lastly, it's an English-like network
programming language. Perhaps, REBOL might adopt such a model.

I hope this helps everyone wherever you live and whoever you are,

Cheryl
