As we are discussing various enhancements and suggestions, I found following in one of older posts: ---------------- >Note: in the wait, you probably want to put the port before >the number, just in case the wait expires and there's input >at the same time. e.g.: wait reduce [remote 0] >and not this: wait reduce [0 remote] > Hi Galt, Actually, as in most things REBOL, the order in the block makes no difference as to the priority of the checking. The priority will always be to check any console ports first, then any network ports, and finally, a timeout, if it is present. Just a little more undocumented REBOL lore... ;-) - jim -------------------------- What an usefull info! What a pity documentation on ports is still missing some fundamental things, as above comment of Jim Goodnow, or another one of Sterling IIRC, describing difference between various open refinements in conjunction with ports .... Or - what about "hidden" refinements as email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] .... email/host email/user Or just look at system/network/host "rebol" system/network/host-address 195.47.26.117 while info on ports: port/host 127.0.0.1 in the first case 'host returns name representation, while in the second case it returns IP address, which is referred in the first case by 'host-address ... could it be considered as a little bit of naming convention inconsistence or am I missing something here? -pekr-
