The problem I observed (not formulated) was the amount of discussion,
and apparent confusion, over the behavior of REBOL in cases such as:
>> a: "12345678"
== "12345678"
>> b: next a
== "2345678"
>> c: next b
== "345678"
>> clear b
== ""
>> a
== "1"
>> b
== ""
>> c
== ** Script Error: Out of range or past end.
** Where: append a "x" print a
My experience is that difficulty in understanding/explaining a thing
often involves either lack of a clear metaphor/model, or lack of
clear, complete, unambiguous terminology, or both. My reading of
the dictionary, tutorials, and 'help left me with the impression that
the term "series" was being used to cover two closely related but
distinct concepts. I've been trying to address that issue.
I can assure you that the neither state of affairs nor the effort to
communicate it have been a source of happiness.
