My be I am too much "in" into REBOL and will sound now narrow-minded, but consider -
REBOL is smaller, efficient, more readable than Perl and in the beginning of 2K should
be available on 50 platforms. Commercial versions are under development: REBOL/Apache
beta is out now, REBOL/Media and REBOL/Browse are in the works (will be free of
charge), REBOL/Command
(with toolkit to embed REBOL into your own apps) is on its way, specialised versions
of Rebol (e.g. with DB2, Oracle etc. direct connection are also planned) ....
Nothing personal agains Perl here, I just don't have enough time to study another
language. I am with REBOL, as its architect - Carl Sassenrath, is also well known as
the architect of AmigaOS. And just because AmigaOS design is superior in some areas
even today, so REBOL should not be so bad, no? ;-))
See ya,
