Why did nobody copy the idea for named assigns from the AmigaOS?
Wouldn't the following be nice to do on your windows box ...

assign pws: d:\webstuff\pws

Then maybe it would be possible to do something revolutionary, like move an
installed application from one directory to another without having to reinstall
it.

True, there is a subst command, but I have more than 26 applications installed
