As Tim Rue pointed out (*) Minix can be compiled for both 16 and 32 bit.
That's why I choose to use it :-)
(the V20 should be supported as the 8086 and 8088 are too (if I remember
correctly - dunno where I saw it - the v20 is an 8088 with an extended
8086 instructionset but still mostly 8/16 bit... kinda strange, but heh!
it works very nicely :-)
(I used the V20 some weeks ago as a notepad while my PII was copying the
win2k install to my other partition (it wants to install to the
partition it sits on...) and I forgot to start smartdrive so it took a
hell of a time to do it. Meanwhile I was typing away on the v20 making a
list of all the old computerparts I have lying around here (it's still
not complete and that while I only have 16.5 square meters of room where
I have to sleep and study too :-)
I'll put up a list on my website for those interested in old - but
mostly working - junk. Maybe somebody knows what it's worth :-)
But where getting off topic here, this is more of the rambbling I post
in alt.folklore.computers :-)))
* Tim: I was seriously pleasantly suprised at seeing your postings!
They're quite different here from the ones in c.s.a.m. (and not trying
to be cynical here, I mean it)
