"dns://" always returns the "host name" of your computer.
Precisely where you define this varies with the Unix dialect
you use. On my RedHat 4.x Linux box this is defined in
"/etc/HOSTNAME". Whether and how you can redefine this
value on-the-fly, without rebooting, probably also depends on
your Unix dialect...
