It's a dot. And this won't work, since the point of prin{ } is to print a
space. So you can't save anything with this method, even though the idea is
neat.

In each possible case the length is longer or the same, eg:
[ask{}]
[ask #] (same length!)

[ask{bla}]
[ask #bla] (same length!)

[prin{bla}]
[prin #bla] (again, same length!)

[prin #] (useless, this is a no-op!)

[print #]
[print{}] (same length)
