(Sorry if this msg is a dupe... I've gotten a few 'user unknown' errors on previous emails to this list, and I haven't figured out what wrong, yet.) I just installed a small, cool Windows freeware program called JIT that automatically launches any app at any time, or repetitively. It uses very few clock cycles. (I could have just used a simple batch file in a loop, but that uses up too many clock cycles.) I have JIT launch a batch file once a minute that merely detects for the existence of another batch file, and if it exists, the first batch file runs the second batch file. Of course the intention is for rebol to write the second batch file, thereby launching any app desired. If you're interested, you can get JIT from here: http://members.xoom.com/polyakoff/ (I did a lot of looking before I found this one... I don't know of any other freeware program like this, and this one is actually written pretty well and looks nice.) --Ken. >At 04:25 PM 5/1/00 -0500, you wrote: >>How can you run command line operating system calls in Unix or Windows from >>a Rebol script? >> >>thanks, >> >>Steve ___________________________________ ___________________________________ Ah, you hate Microsoft too! So comrade, ven do vee plan to defect?
