Have you tried EditPlus? I used to use UltraEdit, but it seems like it could
use at least a partial rewrite. Some of its features really don't work
right. For example, turn on word wrap and line numbering. Look at a long
line, and you'll see that it numbers more lines than there are. It should
only count the long line as one line, since it is one line, just wrapped,
but it considers each wrapped line as a separate line. EditPlus handles this
correctly. Also, in UltraEdit, try turning on column select mode, and
dragging a column of text somewhere so that some of it would fall outside of
the existing text (after the last line, for instance). Then try undoing it.
Last time I tried it it broke all over the place. Anyway, I could go into
more, but EditPlus rocks. - www.editplus.com (and no, they don't pay me :)
It's just the best editor I've found for the PC, that's all.

Also, I used to have a pretty good syntax highlighting file for it, but
unfortunately it's sitting on hard drive that's sitting in one of my drawers
here at work. :)
