Hi, long time ago I had mysterious segmentation faults in Debian. I am no Linux expert, but it was some problem with libc5/libc6 incompatibility. Nothing helped but reinstalling Debian (!). I'm very disappointed with Linux shared libraries compared to Amiga's. If Linux developers make everything dependant on everything and can't guarantee backwards compatibility, I'd rather use statically linked executables. BTW: After the whole great Debian's dependancy system broke because of some packager's mistake, I couldn't install anything anymore.
