Hey Dudes,
Recently just moved so my gear is not set up yet and feel silly asking such a question because I never thought to try this before.  My situation is that I bought a 303 off ebay four years ago.  It has been internally modified so that it has CV and Gate "inputs" rather than outputs anymore (probably the least sacreligious, yet useful, modification a 303 can have).  And I must say that upon opening the unit itself when I bought it to get a good look at the inner-workings of the 303, the mod was shotty and obviously done by a layman, but not complex.  Essentially saw an additional wire soldered on, extra resistor solder on, and a some sloppy scratches to break one of the mainboard's pcb circuits...... But anyhow it works just fine.  I have an appropriate Midi to CV converter, which also works just fine.  I can sequence and trigger notes and note length with any Midi-note programmable device I choose, including my computer of course.  But when using some of the more versatile programs I never tried to apply accent or slide with the Midi sequencer.  I've always assumed that I can not externally control slide and accent with CV and Gate inputs alone.  But then I've never tried.  So instead of spending this past five minutes setting up my gear, I thought I'd ask you guys ??  And I thought it may be helpful to the other fellow.

Does the Kenton 5-socket or Devilfish allow external control of accent and slide?  Can I control the accent/slide with just CV/Gate inputs alone ???  Because from what I understand, it is those two parts of the internal sequencer that makes the 303 so unique ????

Any help is much appreciated...  It's nice to see friendly people on the mailing list.

Never the less.  If you're a purist but yet are still contemplating some sort of mod to your 303, I would suggest a simple internal mod of the CV and Gate to be inputs, because it's useful and I never hear of anyone who actually uses their 303 CV and Gate outputs.... Anyone..anyone...anyone...????

Thanks,
Dave
