On a side note of duration__...
Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to play with a professionally modified box like a Kenton or Devilfish or Borg, but several years ago I purchased a 303 and was told it had a modification in which the CV and Gate were modified to be inputs.  My curiosity opened up the box and found an apparently primative and simple home modification.  I then bought a MIDI -to- CV/Gate interface box.(not very common in my area).   And with most of the MIDI software programs I've used (including Cubase) it allows me to program 303 notes and the duration from my computer. (but nothing else, so I don't do it very often).  I am intrigued by the Devilfish only for its "alteration of the sound".  The best beaten dead horse example is Plastikman's 'MUSIK' album which continuously features early Devilfish mod 303(s), with or withoutt direct MIDI input.  My regrets and apologies to the purists.   But it is a great altered sound though (midi sequenced or not),.

A brief overview of the differences between the Devil fish mods and
the Kenton MIDI is that the Devilfish mods are alterations (expansions
to) the basic sound of the 303. The ability to accept MIDI input is a
change to the control function of the 303 (ie you have modified your
machine to bypass the internal sequencer but not affected the sound
that it makes.)
The Devilfish mods didn't include MIDI in as an option until January
2005.

I don't use cubase or have the Kenton kit (I have the above
modification and I sequence with Logic) but you could try making longer
MIDI events in sequencer that overlap the convention of 16 note/bar
grid and coincide with other MIDI note events. I've found this to be a
relatively effective way of replicating slide-type sounds as produced
by the 303 internal sequencer.

Accent is triggered MIDI velocity. You may be able to program this as
an on/off function determined by a threshold of your choice.
