Hello,

I'm gathering information about the work habits of technical
communicators for a paper I'm writing (more reasons for conducting this
survey at the end of this email). So far I've received over 850
responses.

Would you mind disseminating the link to this questionnaire among your
peers and colleagues?

Note:
- Sometimes the page does not load correctly. Just refresh the link
and/or page and it should work fine.
- The questionnaire is in English and takes about 5-10 minutes to
complete.
- The questionnaire closes on 31 August 2004.
- Raw results are available here:

Thank you,
Melanie Doulton

Reasons for doing this questionnaire and how the information will be
used:

1) I plan to write a conference paper and/or article based on the
statistics I gather. That's about as far as I plan to take it. I'm only
interested in publishing the outcomes of the survey and will leave the
readers/audience to draw their own conclusions.

2) Also, I recently moved from France to India (my home town) and
suffered a bit of culture shock in terms of the work ethic. I wondered
if the differences in work styles and habits affect productivity, job
satisfaction, and so on. So on that level I suppose it is just
curiosity.
