Hi Kevin

The news about Monday's meeting is excellent. Well done!

In the immortal works of Derek Trotter ... "You know it makes sense"

Chalk one up for the Standards Crowd!

Best regards

Subject: [WSG] inheritance? was .net question

Hello,
------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------
If i put a class on a dl like this:

<dl class="offers">
Why wont the dt and dd automatically inherit the class?
Im having to put the class on these as well(<dd class="offers">).
Is it because i have defined different values in my css for each
selector?
the css:
#sub-content dl.offers{different values from dt and dd} #sub-content
dt.offers { different values from dl and dd} #sub-content
dd.offers{different values from dt and dl}
------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
Regarding the previous posts about having the asp developers i work with
migrate more towards standards:
I followed Ben and Peters advice-it went very well they even asked me to
go totally tableless...couldnt believe it...
Once they saw the level of control we could achieve with standards they
suggested that i reformat all content that needs a table right now to be
"tabularless" i.e more list friendly.- all more that i had hoped for, as
there is some really tabular content but whos going to argue.

They did ask that i "lock down" all css into reusable sheets. (you can
see my progress in this site http://mcmonagle.biz/leitrim/ still a bit
messy.)

They want every single tag to be easily tracible by the location and
type of content this isnt that difficult as we're mainly building one
type of site right now.

-thanks a mill
