Indeed I am using a big background -image and changing its position. The flickering what happend with IE is known issue and I need to change the server "cache" setting to "to allow cache"
Until then there is a Flickering issue with IE :(

I'm using Win2K and IE 6.0 and your tabs are disappearing, then after a
random delay, reappearing. Could be caused by the technique you are
using to swap the background image of the links.
If you are just chainging the backgorund image using CSS, you should
instead make a big backgorund image and just change its position on
rollover instead.
