It is tough to please all users, to come up with a "one size fit all"
solution. But you're only 1 mouse click or 2 key press (focus goes to the
last slide viewed) away from the gallery. I guess I could duplicate the
thumbnails and use them in lieu of the 3 buttons...

No it doesn't have to, I just had no reason to push it right or left since I
didn't plan for people to click on the thumbnails "through" the slideshow.
