Yes, I was hoping that it would appear at the footer of the page
regardless of how much content is on it.

it doesn't look like it.
why not settle for the url at the end of the content?
what if users choose to print landscape? or print to a pdf?
you have very little control over how the individual user sets up
printing, and most browsers allow for the url to be added as a footer
to *every* page anyway.
Go with the flow, life is too short!
