Hi, 

If anyone's interested, I've figured out a solution to
the IE7 zoom shift problem.  Use the rule
html {width: 100%}
to set the viewport to be equal to the current
viewable area.  

Working demo here:
http://www.thatvoodooyoudo.com/ie7zoom.html

This rule doesn't seem to have any negative effects in
IE/Win IE5, 5.5, 6, Mac/IE, FF 1.5, Safari 2, or Opera
9.  Please let me know if you come across any problem
with the technique.
