"Google today released Accessible Search, a Google Labs product
aiming to rank higher pages which are optimized for blind users.
Google asks you to adhere to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines if you want to make sure your pages are accessible
(and thus, rank better on Google Accessible Search). I wrote a
small tool to compare results of default and accessible
results."
I wonder if and how long it will take for this to move to the standard
search.

I entered a search term in and tested the results: those complying to
the WAI are not necessarily ranked higher. I assume there is also some
other mechanism weighing in here, that perhaps can over-ride the
accessibility features?
Also, some accessibility features in a website would be present while
others wouldn't. Are some accessibility features ranked higher in
importance than others? And if so, how has that decision come about? Are
some not considered relevant at all?
I think we need to know more :)
