Isn't that rather like classing a paragraph "red" or "left" or "large"? I see the decision to indent the first line of a paragraph as a presentational one, not a semantic one. I'd leave the class at "first" or "intro" something that indicated the role of the text in the structure, and indicate my intention to indent that text (or not) solely in the stylesheet.
