Hi Rob, Normally I'd agree with you, but a Stock Ticker is something of a tradition in the industry and I think the users are used to the idea. Here's what I've put together.
That is an assumption. It's like saying popup windows were an convention over the years and people should be used to them. Instead, people use popup blockers. Animation should always go with moderation, and if you want to think about accessibility, you should also include an option to stop it or control its speed.
