This is a very significant case in the United States. This ruling provides much needed clarification that the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to web sites and that lawsuits can be brought under that civil rights act. It's not yet clear if this applies to all web sites or only to web sites that have a bricks and mortar presence.
The case continues and will hopefully provide more clarification and precedence about what is accessible and what is not. Other recent finding in the U.S. have used WCAG 1.0 as the defining reference.
