Heh, good call Lachlan. When it's just the table on a page by itself, I don't get the jumping behaviour so it's obviously something else on the page that's causing it.

Your comments and the threads on CSS-D have convinced me that the table is the way to go. I will try and test the caption and summary out with a screenreader and see what works.

Windows Eyes (IBM) Captions and Summary  - Yes

If you set out the table correctly you will have no issues. putting in wk1 wk2 wk3 wk4 as cross th to the days does help too.
