Would it be wrong to use:

   a1{font-size :  0.5em}
   .
   .
   .
   a30{font-size : 25em}  (or whatever)


in conjunction with :

   <ul>

       <li class=a3> topic </li> etc
   .
   .
   .
   </ul>


???
