Reality check from 2002. Now we're almost 5 years ahead...

I don't think that there's any argument about whether or not tabular data 
should be marked up as a table or not, and the hissyfits I'd say referred to 
the "don't use tables for layout" debate, which nowadays seems a bit passe...
