Hi List,
We're working on an application that will require options to print a
number of standard letters on headed stationery. The application
interface will be via a web browser, probably FF although I don't want
to impose restrictions unless absolutely necessary. The current app uses
access on an internal network, and we'll be converting to a LAMP based app.
Ideally I don't want the user to have to go through any print setup
operations each time they print, or to make too many assumptions about
their current setup. For example, it would be good if filenames etc were
not printed by default at the top of the page. So, in an ideal world,
the code and css would take care of most of that and the letter would be
displayed on-screen in a format that the user could just hit 'print'.
I will research options on the web, but would be interested in pointers
to any specific docs, methods, utilities or 'gotchas' that you think are
appropriate or particularly useful.
Thanks,
Nick
