Hi,

Over the weekend 2-3 Dec the Council of Governors (The governing body of
Lions in Australia) accepted a guideline for the Lions Australia web site
<http://www.lionsclubs.org.au> and the twenty District web sites.

Having been involved in the production of the guideline I was able to have
included the sites should adhere to W3C standards and the WCAG.

I was invited, twelve months ago, to assist with the Lions Aust site, at
that time no one involved with the site knew about web standards or
accessibility. A strange situation considering Lions Internationals long
history of support for the blind and visually impared.

The problem we are faced with now is a new design, we are all amateurs and
have virtually no budget, one of the drawbacks of a truly non profit
organisation.

Anyone who feels inclined to contribute a design, all we can offer is
adequate credit on the site.
