Welcome to the EU*! I've noted that a lot of German sites have an "Impressum", that I'd guess is the same thing; I seem to remember someone telling me that it is a legal requirement. However, Impressum is generally a page, with a link to it. Repeating the same information on the footer of every page is not, in my opinion, in the spirit of the Web. Obviously an idea of someone still living in the paper age...
