Yes I am curious and would like to see the code that includes the weight
factor I even don't know.

Anyway I think I confused, my question was about the use of the tip from
http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2004/xhtml-faq#ie :

Well, for one thing that line above the doctype will put IE 6- in
quirks mode (but not IE 7).
