I am aware of, and understand such constraints, but they shouldn't be there on a (major) Australian government site. Also, using "it's open source" as a reason not to support a browser shows appalling ignorance. Amazed as I am, though, I'm not going to write them a reactionary email. I'll think it through and figure out how to say something very reasonable. If no one says anything, they have no reason to change.
