hi everyone,

this is just a quick note to let you all know that we're going to be doing a listen release (0.5b2) and then a bit of reshuffling of the listen svn layout to improve packaging.

here's a rough outline of the steps that we're going to take:

- merge all recent development on the trunk to the 0.5 branch

- make 0.5b2 release from the 0.5 branch

- merge all appropriate recent trunk development into the listen-repoze branch (note: this branch is incorrectly named... while it is probable that this branch does work w/ repoze, it is not at all dependent on repoze. it DOES depend on Plone 3 or greater, however.)

- 'svn rm' the current listen trunk

- 'svn cp' the listen-repoze branch to become the listen trunk in a new location, in a setuptools-compatible package at http://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/Products.listen... the current svn location of http://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/listen will be deprecated; the 0.5 branch and the historical branches and tags will remain, but the trunk will be moved and no new development should land there.

- 'svn mv' the export branch (which was cut from the listen-repoze branch and is, AFAIK, the only other branch seeing active development) to the new svn location

as you might guess, listen v0.5 will be the last listen release supporting Plone 2.5. future releases will come from the new listen trunk (i.e. the code that is currently living in the listen-repoze branch) and will require Plone 3 or greater.

thanks for, um, listening.... ;-)
