When a man says I : need I car, you don't just give him a car. : He needs to see where his behavior : accounts for why he is needy. For him : to truly see that would be empowering. : : He is responsible for the production and : conservation of material resources. To : encourage independence is more helpful : then to promote dependency on the State : or on the goodwill of others. In regard to : the plight of the poor, is makes more : sense to allow those with a knack for : creating wealth to thrive and encourage : them to teach others how to do the same. rob: are you too busy focusing on fixes to look at the problem? Promoting dependency cuts both ways. look at the dependency of the rich on the poor -- they did not acquire their wealth in a vacuum. but aside from our apparent inability to practicly share and cooperatively steward resources, there is still the problem that the majority of those living in poverty are (female) children. obviously teaching them dependency is not an answer, but neither is the suggestion they should take care of themselves. why don't we care about them? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
