: gv: the non-dual is imageless,
: and thus can not be
described.
rob: isn't it
amazing how much we want to
talk about it conceptually, as dualistic knowers?
geo> Isn't it amazing how deeply the list memebers NEED
self-_expression_?
why?
rob: what is amazing about the attempt of the
conditioned
self to assert it self? i am
conditioned to approach things
that way. maybe it would have been better
for me to have
asked greg:
isn't
it misinformation to talk about it conceptually,
as dualistic
knowers?
what do you say? ...
geo> I was just expressing (self?) a fleeting general
impression
that jolted me. I was suddenly aware of the amount of
exchanges
on the list that deal almost exclusively with one set of
issues:
'the intense drive to ascertain and justify ones
correctness in
contraposition to another's'.
rob: yes, i find that assessment
correct and justified :-))
seriously though, that is amazing. do you
think it is
because the self intuits the flaw in its coup d'etat
(spelled?)
of the organism that it is so keen on asserting its
correctness?
geo> Are you looking at the
"amazement" felt or at the so-often present self-_expression_?
rob:
both
geo> I don't understand the answer.
Anyway I think the amazement is a moment
of insight (even if partial) into the
actuality of this drive to self-express. Now... for the
self-_expression_ itself, that is
something entire different IMO. It seems to be based on
fear, a need to reassure ourselves
that we are "on the right track". So if we look at the
movement of the list with such eyes we
may find that people here are perhaps afraid
of being left alone with their uncertainties and
doubts.
