The one thing that has been going through my mind during the reading of
this thread.... what is going to deliver mail to this new structure?
Courier-IMAP works with the Maildir storage format which was
introduced/popularized by qmail. A large number of MTAs support the Maildir
storage format. As soon as you change the way mail is stored, you will
have to change the way it is delivered.
